Judith is a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than thirty years of experience in the delivery of behavioral and mental health services in a variety of contexts. Her experience includes inpatient treatment, residential treatment, private practice and schools. For more than 20 years she was assigned to a separate special education campus for children with severe behavioral issues. She has worked with a variety of issues across the lifespan with particular focus on child and adolescent trauma. She values the benefits of both pet therapy and art-based therapeutic interventions.

Judith holds a Master of Science degree  in Counseling and Guidance from East Texas State University (now Texas A & M, Commerce).  She graduated from Southern Methodist University, Dallas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology, and a minor in Psychology. She earned an Associate in Applied Arts and Sciences from Eastfield Community College, Mesquite, Texas.

Judith is a Certified Zentangle®Teacher.  Zentangle, a simple meditative art form which utilizes basic shapes that enable anyone to enjoy the benefits of drawing and relaxation. Even if someone thinks they can’t draw!  Zentangle® philosophy is “Anything is possible, one step at a time.” She has experienced the benefits of this simple art form both professionally and personally.  She also enjoys creating art by repurposing found objects and participating in local art fests with her daughter, Anna.

After retiring from education as a special education school counselor, she and her husband relocated to Nacogdoches to be near her two children and four grandchildren.
